What We Do
We supervise offenders aged 18 and over in the community who are sentenced by the court to either a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, Community Order, or Suspended Sentence Order.
Our aim is to reduce re-offending. Some of the problems offenders face include homelessness, unemployment and drug dependency. Ensuring that the offenders we supervise address these issues is central to stopping them from committing more crime.
We do this by a wide variety of interventions, such as:
- our skilled professionals supervising offenders on a one-to-one basis
- programmes and courses
- managing prolific offenders who are supervised in the community
- by working in partnership with a wide range of agenies to support people as they reintegrate into the community.
Our statistics show we are one of the UK’s leading probation services.
